Thirteen moons calendar

Each moon starts at the astronomical New Moon and lasts 29–30 days. A solar year holds 12 or 13 of these. This is the real cycle, not a 28-day grid.

Weather, pressure, and the body

What the barometer is saying

Air has weight. Barometric pressure is that weight, measured in hectopascals (hPa). Around 1013 hPa is a common sea-level average. High pressure (often above 1020) usually means stable, clearer air. Low pressure (often below 1005) means the air column is lighter, clouds and storms can build, and fronts are nearby.

High vs low

A rising barometer often follows a passing front: the sky hardens, wind settles. A falling barometer often means a low is approaching. The speed of the drop matters more than a single number. A fast fall is a classic storm warning. A slow drift may only be the daily tide of the atmosphere.

Fronts

A front is the boundary between two air masses. Cold fronts can arrive with a sharp pressure drop, wind shift, and a line of rain. Warm fronts lift more slowly. Your ears, sinuses, and joints are sitting inside this moving fluid. They do not need a storm on the radar to notice the pressure change a few hours early.

Joints, head, sinuses, mood

Many people report more joint ache, migraines, or sinus pressure when the barometer falls. Lower external pressure can let tissues expand a little and can change how fluid sits in sinuses and the inner ear. Sleep and mood can shift with the same weather, especially when clouds cut light and the body is already tired. This is common, not imaginary, and it is also not a diagnosis. Hydration, rest, and known care from a clinician still come first.

Tides and the moon

The moon raises ocean tides by gravity. It does not set your local barometer. Pressure is weather. The moon page keeps both: lunation above, atmosphere beside it, so they are not confused.

Educational only. Not medical advice. If pain, breathing, or mood changes worry you, talk to a qualified clinician. Live numbers come from Open-Meteo when a location is set.

Upcoming

Biblical feast dates here use Nisan 1 = the first apparent New Moon on or after March 20 UTC, then count days in that lunation. This is astronomical, not the rabbinic calendar with postponements. Western Easter uses the Gregorian computus (2026: April 5).
